Security Clearance Services

At SoftSim Technologies, we support our consultants in obtaining the required Government of Canada security clearances needed to work on federal contracts.
What Is a Security Clearance?
A security clearance is a status granted to individuals—usually by the government or an authorized agency—that allows them to access classified or sensitive information, locations, or systems that are not available to the general public.
It involves a thorough background check to ensure the individual can be trusted to protect and not misuse sensitive information.
Federal government contracts often contain security clauses that specify the levels of clearance required to safeguard sensitive data, assets, and work sites. A personnel security clearance must be granted before any employee or contractor may access classified information, protected assets, or secure facilities.
The Clearance Process
To process a personnel security clearance, a criminal record check with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is required. This includes taking digital fingerprints through an RCMP-accredited fingerprinting agency.
Steps to Follow:
- Locate an RCMP-accredited fingerprinting agency in your area.
- Once fingerprints are taken, you will receive a DCN (Document Control Number).
- The Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) or the Company Security Officer (CSO) will handle the next step by submitting the DCN along with copies of two valid pieces of ID to Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) to verify your identity and initiate the clearance process.
🕒 Note: The DCN is valid for one year and is required for all new, update, and upgrade clearance requests.
